Ivory Rose X TheLingeriePrincess on DD+ bras and DD+ Lingerie
Hello lovely people!
I am Lucy and I blog about all things DD+ boobs and bras over at @thelingerieprincess. I have a background in bra fitting and am always looking out for new and exciting fuller bust brands, especially ones that don’t break the bank! Today I’m reviewing four gorgeous styles from ivory rose lingerie. I’m normally a 28G bra size, but as ivory rose doesn’t yet make that size I sister sized into a 30FF (up one band size, down a cup size to retain the same cup volume).
DD+ Blush Pink Spot Floral Lace T-shirt Bra With Matching Thong.
DD plus Lingerie Set under £23.00
The gorgeous soft pink lace set. This is a simple moulded t-shirt bra style, underwired with adjustable shoulder straps and a pretty lace overlay. The 30FF fits me really nicely, despite being technically too big in the back band. It does feel like it runs just a tad small, so bear this in mind when choosing your size and consider going up a band size if you are not a fan of a firm fit. The fit is overall super comfortable, though the cups are a bit too shallow for my personal bust shape and so the centre gore does not sit completely flush against my breastbone. Because of this it wouldn’t be my first choice in my lingerie drawer, but if you have a slightly shallower or less projected shape than me don’t let this put you off! It still gives me amazing shape. The thong is a super cute mesh and lace number that matches perfectly, though does run small – I would definitely size up in this style.
Black Unpadded Animal Flock Balconette Bra With Matching Brief
– Set under £21
I want to talk about is the stunning flocked animal print set. A little black bra, an everyday staple, with a super fashionable twist! This is my favourite of the two bra sets I was sent to try out. The structure feels supportive, with underwired and mesh-lined, non-padded cups. The fit is spot on for this style and feels a lot more secure around my bust. I am obsessed with the velvet flocked leopard print and cute ruffle trim at the neck edge. similarly, to the peach set, this does feel smaller in the band so keep that in mind when choosing your size. the shoulder straps on this one are also only half adjustable, which shouldn’t be much of an issue but should be taken into consideration if you’re short in the shoulders. I received the matching brief with this style which fits perfectly, and is a really nice everyday shape in soft fabrics.
DD+ Black Unpadded Heart Jacquard Body – £22
A gorgeous bodysuit, The Jacquard Heart Body. As someone with a fuller bust, bra sized and underwired bodysuits are such a game changer for dd plus lingerie – We want cute and on-trend lingerie too! This style fit much more true to size in the back band (therefore fit a little loose on me, as I’m a 28 back normally), and was super comfortable to wear. The gusset lining sits a little far back on me, but I honestly would normally wear a body like this over a plain black thong so this isn’t a huge issue for me, and probably wouldn’t be noticeable on someone with a longer torso (I’m only 5′ 3” and most of that is leg!). My only dislike about this set is the shape of the cups – they’re a simple two part cup with a horizontal seam, which gives quite a pointed shape. the addition of a vertical seam would help round the breast off, but it’s such a cute style I am happy to compromise – plus, it’s doubtful anyone else would really notice – and I can totally see myself rocking it with a pair of jeans and a leather jacket.
DD+ Red Unpadded Lace Body – £22
The gorgeous Red Lace Body. This has been blowing up my Instagram feed on so many babes, and it’s easy to see why! It’s definitely my favourite of the four styles I’ve tried out so far. The lace is super soft and stretchy, so it moulds to fit your curves, and makes for a really nice, flattering fit on your boobs too. It makes me feel so fierce, and I can’t wait to rock it as outerwear once lockdown is over. similarly, to the Jacquard Heart Body, the gusset does feel a tad too far back but again, not a dealbreaker as I would wear something underneath anyway. The red shade is such a bright and fiery colour, almost neon, and would look amazing on any skin tone – definitely one to try if you haven’t already!
So there we have it – my little round up of four staple ivory rose styles. I do believe you get what you pay for when it comes to Full Bust Lingerie so while these aren’t your high end luxury products, there’s no denying that they offer style and comfort at a super affordable price point. I would love to see them eventually branch out into smaller back sizes and bigger cups, but of course this is all a process that takes time and money. So, if you fit into their current size range and are looking for an affordable Full Bust Bra or a fashionable bodysuit that fits curvier shapes, then definitely give Ivory Rose a try!
